Preparing scholars to succeed in college, solve real-world problems, and maximize their impact in the world.
Weezie’s Place opened in September of 2023 to provide preschool education for children ages two through five. The diverse, inclusive community includes children of professionals who work in downtown Phoenix and children from the low-income community within walking distance of the campus. The best way to eliminate the achievement gap between low-income students and their more affluent peers is to prevent it from ever forming.
Weezie’s Place was built through extraordinary generosity from the David E. Reese Family Foundation, a private, Arizona-based grantmaking foundation. David and his wife, Weezie, are officers of the foundation that supports people with disabilities, educational programs, and various medical charities.
The Director of the Preschool is Johanna Hierro, who founded the Ark of Learning Program to prepare students to be school-ready when starting Kindergarten so they can be ready to go to college and change the world after they graduate.
